A Gentleman & His Cap

A gentleman will probably own a stack of baseball caps, which he wears after work, on the weekends, or on casual days at the office. He may feel that a beloved baseball cap is almost a part of his body but he should never forget that it is still a hat and that common courtesy demands it be treated as such. A gentleman does not wear his cap inside most public buildings, especially houses of worship. Traditionally, a gentleman would remove his hat if he were greeting a woman or being introduced to a new acquaintance of either sex. If a gentleman wears a hat to cover up an unwashed mass of hair or to disguise a balding head, he need not remove it. He gives tug to his cap brim out of respect for the other person, and as a wistful acknowledgement of courtesy long past.

A Gentleman & His Cologne

A gentleman considers cologne to be intimate apparel. It should not be a topic of conversation (positive or negative) among other people in the room. Instead, it should be saved as a pleasant surprise for people with whom he makes close physical contact with. A gentleman understands that cologne is an accessory and is not supposed to be used as a substitute for deodorant. A dab on either side of the neck is quite enough. When used in excess, cologne is annoying and raises questions about what smells are being covered up. Anytime a person can identify the brand of scent that a man is wearing, he is wearing too much.

When to wear Brown shoes...!

Black shoes are always considered more formal, businesslike, and serious than brown shoes. In certain businesses (legal profession or banking etc.) black shoes are really the only acceptable footwear. On the other hand, in a situation where a brown or green suit or a sports coat is acceptable, brown shoes will serve you well. Never wear brown shoes to a funeral or to a wedding.

Once again I apologize for my disappearing acts. I'm honestly not even sure how often people run thru this website looking for something new...but my apologies are directed to anyone that does. I'm really going to try to set this blog in my top 5 priorities this year!

On another note...

In recent conversation with more than a handful of my female friends...I have come to find out that the entire female population seems to be sick and tired of this disease infesting many men known as "dick-head-ism." In response to this feeling, I've complied (from my brain and other sources) a list of things that can help the male population! I'm not perfect...but I am sick and tired of ladies telling me and people I know that we have to make up for the mistakes of old boyfriends...not cool.

So all you old boyfriends...take notes...and anyone trying to perfect their craft...look for something you may have never thought of!
